Fall 2025 Financial Aid FAQs
College life gets busy fast—especially at the start of a new semester. Between classes, schedules, and everything else, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But getting a handle on your financial aid early can take a lot of stress off your plate and help you feel more in control.
To help you stay ahead, we’ve put together answers to some of the most common financial aid questions students ask. Let’s make sure you’re set up for success from day one.
Amanda Weibring named UIS Employee of the Month for July 2025
Amanda Weibring, an associate registrar in records and registration, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for July 2025.
Weibring is recognized for her exceptional leadership, positive attitude and dedication to supporting students and staff.
“Amanda always has time to answer questions and give help when needed,” said one nominator.
Her colleagues also highlighted her adaptability and commitment.
Submit a Welcome Message for Convocation by Aug. 10
As part of the upcoming Convocation on August 21, we are creating a welcome video featuring friendly faces from across campus. Please submit by August 10.

Campus-Wide Wi-Fi Upgrade - WUIS and Cox Child Care
Thanks to campus and system-level financial support, ITS is in the process of implementing a campus-wide infrastructure refresh as part of our efforts to improve Wi-Fi performance. This is a multi-phase project with an expected projected completion date of August 2025.
During the week of July 28, we will be upgrading WUIS and Cox Child Care Center.
During the transition for each building, laptops, tablets, and phones should automatically switch to the new Wi-Fi after a possible brief interruption in service.
