I was honored to be invited to speak earlier this month at UIS' Lunch & Learn Series presented by the UIS Alumni SAGE Society and the Illinois State Historical Society. And I was especially glad that we were able to hold the event in person, at Illini Country Club. It was the first time UIS did a live L&L since before the pandemic started.
Illinois State University professor named director of UIS School of Education
An Illinois State University professor will be the director of the University of Illinois Springfield School of Education starting this summer.
UIS announced Tuesday that Beth Hatt, a professor of educational administration and foundations at Illinois State, would start as director on June 16. She has spent the past 10 years with the ISU College of Education and holds a doctorate in culture, curriculum and change from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
UIS raises awareness about sexual assault
The University of Illinois Springfield is raising awareness for sexual assault awareness month.
Students placed hundreds of flags for the more than 400,000 people who become rape and sexual assault victims every year.
The goal is to raise awareness and show support for survivors on campus.
