UIS to hold virtual panel on arts advocacy, racial equality
The University of Illinois Springfield is holding a panel discussion on arts advocacy and racial equality.
The UIS Music Program is hosting "From Diversity to Inclusion: Arts Advocacy and Racial Equality in the 21st Century."
The panelists will discuss their efforts to engage the arts to tackle issues of silencing, prejudice, and racism, as well as encourage equity and inclusivity in the arts.
UIS Music Program Director and Associate Professor of Ethnomusicology Yona Stamatis will moderate the discussion.
University of Illinois system will not require ACT, SAT for admission for 2 years
The University of Illinois System announced Thursday that three state universities will not require students to submit standardized test scores for admission applications.
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Illinois Chicago and University of Illinois Springfield will allow high school students to apply for admission for the two upcoming academic years without taking the ACT or SAT.
UIS sets up flag display for sexual assault awareness
The University of Illinois Springfield is observing Sexual Assault Awareness Month Day of Action.
The UIS Women's Center and Civic Engagement Center created a display of 1,000 flags.
The display also includes resources for those who are victims of sexual assault or know someone who is.

Dancing to help sick children in the community
The University of Illinois Springfield is on a mission to help sick and injured kids in our community.
UIS held its yearly dance marathon on Saturday to raise money for the HSHS St. John’s Children's Miracle Network.
