UIS awarded Voter Friendly Campus designation

The University of Illinois Springfield has been named a Voter Friendly Campus for 2025-26 by the Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
UIS students now have access to free test prep courses, saving thousands

The Prepare for Illinois’ Future Program is a partnership between Illinois, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and Kaplan, an education company. It provides students with free access to Kaplan’s test prep resources for graduate admissions, licensure, and credential exams.
UIS Chancellor's Thinkers Series to focus on finding common ground

Chancellor Janet Gooch will be joined by Matt Van Vossen and Ryan Melchin, Class of 2011 UIS Graduates. Matt and Ryan will discuss how they navigated diverse leadership roles on campus, including leading the college Democrats and Republicans while sharing a dorm room. Matt and Ryan exemplify respect for differences and the power of finding common ground.
Illinois university offering in-state tuition for NWI students

The University of Illinois Springfield will expand its in-state tuition pilot program, which began in the fall of 2024, to students from Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, as well as some counties in Missouri and Iowa.
