        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  has  announced  eight  new  faculty  appointments.  Four  faculty  members  will  teach  in  the  College  of  Liberal  Arts  and  Sciences,  one  in  the  College  of  Business  and  Management  and  three  in  the  College  of  Public  Affairs  and  Administration.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">More  than  860&nbsp;University  of  Illinois  Springfield&nbsp;students  returned  to  campus  for  the  start  of  Fall  Semester  2021  classes  during  Move-In  Week,  held  Aug.  16-20.All  students  were  required  to  pre-register  for  a  move-in  time  slot  in  order  to  reduce  congestion  and  support  physical  distancing  during  the  COVID-19  pandemic.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  has  named  Laura  Liesman  as  its  Designate  Director  of  Athletics,  pending  approval  by  the  University  of  Illinois  Board  of  Trustees.  The  Aurora,  Illinois  native  has  spent  the  past  18  years  at  Georgian  Court  University  (GCU)  in  Lakewood,  New  Jersey.  At  GCU,  she  is  the  Assistant  Vice  President  for  Athletics  and  Recreation  and  Director  of  Athletics.</div>
