UIS to host a 20th anniversary 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Crowne Plaza Springfield

The University of Illinois Springfield Department of Campus Recreation will host a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021, at the Crowne Plaza Springfield, located at 3000 S. Dirksen Pkwy., to mark the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.

7.30.21 Dear UIS Students, Faculty and Staff — Earlier this week, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention issued new recommendations that all individuals, including those who are fully vaccinated, wear face coverings when indoors in public settings in areas that have substantial or high community transmission of COVID-19. Sangamon County is included among many counties in Illinois with substantial transmission.
