        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Sangamon  County  reported  107  new  cases  of  COVID-19  on  Friday,  marking  the  fourth  consecutive  day  the  county  confirmed  more  than  100  positive  tests  for  the  coronavirus.  Over  the  last  seven  days,  the  county  has  averaged  102  new  cases  of  COVID-19  daily  as  the  delta  variant  continues  to  surge.



Currently,  52.08%  of  Sangamon  County’s  population  is  fully  vaccinated,  based  on  data  from  the Illinois  Department  of  Public  Health.</div>

JB&nbsp;Pritzker  Thursday  mandated  COVID-19  vaccines  for  all  public  education  employees  who  work  with&nbsp;students  pre-kindergarten  through  college.&nbsp;



The  vaccine  mandate  is  scheduled  to  begin&nbsp;Sept.  5.&nbsp;



While  the  vaccine  mandate  does  not  cover  students  in  grades  K  through  12,  it  does  apply  to  college  students.</div>
