UIS Speech and Debate Ends the Semester on a High Note
SPRINGFIELD, IL (December 14, 2020) – UIS Speech and Debate participated in their final tournament of the semester during finals week. The Online Asynchronous Tournament Series (OATS) first tournament was hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. This tournament was the team’s fifth virtual competition of the semester.

These tournaments offer consistent, asynchronous tournament experiences against teams from across the nation. Over the past week, sophomore Lisette Cortes-Benitez entered the seventh and final competition of this series.

SPRINGFIELD, IL (April 26, 2021) – The UIS Speech and Debate Team completed the 20-21 season by participating in the Novice No More Tournament hosted by Northeastern State University and Liberty University. Schools from all corners of the nation took part in this end-of-season celebration tournament for novice competitors.
