HDC Students Raise Money for Hazel Dell Elementary
In Human Development Counseling’s Social Justice and Advocacy class, students discover that lifting a finger can make the difference in the lives of others. Eighteen graduate students from this class organized “Canvas with a Cause” and raised money for the local Hazel Dell Elementary School.

“Hotspotting” a Standout Social Work Student
Chitaia “Taya” Stover is currently completing her Social Work internship with Southern IL University School of Medicine’s new Office of Community Initiatives & Complex Care. As part of her internship, she is participating in the Interprofessional Student Hotspotting ý Collaborative, a program that trains interdisciplinary teams of professional students from schools around the country to learn to work with complex medical and social needs using a patient-centered approach.
