The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) is one of the three universities in the world-class University of Illinois system and the #1 public regional university in Illinois. Located in Springfield, the capital city of Illinois, UIS offers international students the safety and hospitality that is the best of small-town America.
Take some time to read through our Steps for Application and what is required for your admission to UIS, based on the type of applicant you will be and the country where your degree(s) were or will be earned. We also encourage you to reach out to your local for additional guidance as you explore your options for studying in the U.S.
Once admitted, students will work with the Office of International Student Services (ISS). The ISS will provide resources for immigration requirements, arrival, and cultural counseling. They can also help you find a community on campus or find a place to sit and study.
Each student that attends our university from another nation adds a fresh voice to the chorus of diversity that our campus seeks to cultivate. You are welcome here!
