The Chancellor met with Tom Morelock of SUCCS and they discussed the current and future audits. Enrollments this fall have increased the diversity on campus. A suggestion was made that Lorena Johnson might agree to offer a diversity training for campus employees. Teresa suggested to the Chancellor that we might consider implementing a program that pairs an APAC member to join and International student for lunch on a regular basis. In the past, the CBM program has held a welcoming party for International students that was successful. Greg told the Chancellor about the SMTD bus pass program initiative that has been discussed over the past year or so, and may finally be close to being implemented. Jeri suggested to the Chancellor that in addition to the International student event held annually, we might think about holding an urban student event. The Chancellor suggested that we could call it, Taste of Chicago. This might appeal to our students who have a more urban background than we have in Springfield. Ray Barnett cautioned that food services might not allow such an event to take place. Greg also suggested to the Chancellor that any additional student services would be valuable. Donna Haynes raised the issue of health services to students who are covered by private insurance and arent able to access services from our health services office. Ed Wojcicki asked Donna to send him further information on this so he can follow-up. All students should have access to these services. Maureen told the Chancellor that it is her hope to develop a biannual welcome reception for all new employees. Website Jeri, Helene and Mae met and outlined some ideas for revising the APAC website. Clay agreed to meet with the others to discuss ideas and changes. Joint CSAC and APAC meeting no update AP Grievance Hearing Panel Teresa reported that the Provost would like to have 18 AP members to serve on the grievance committee. Each year six people would serve on the committee and others would provide back-up and be available for future service.
