This fall the University of Illinois Springfield will be celebrating its 47^th Annual International Festival. It will be held on Saturday, October 25, 1– 4 pm in The Recreation and Athletic Center (TRAC) at UIS. This is the longest-running event in the history of the university and will showcase a variety of cultures from around the globe. The theme of this year is “Around the World in a Day”. The Festival will highlight talent, food, dress, culture, and more from all around our world. The event will be free to the public and offer a festive celebration of cultures with lots of fun, activity, music, food, and energy.

Do you want somewhere to be able to talk about what you’re reading? Need new book recommendations?

Join us to talk about your favorite books and enjoy some light refreshments.

UIS Library is starting a low stakes book club with no reading requirements. Be ready to discuss your favorite books, authors, and characters during our meetings! For this book club, you can read as much or as little as you want. Each meeting will have a different theme that you can read for, or you can talk about something you've read in the past. The theme for our October meeting is "Banned Books."

If you can’t make this month’s meeting, and you’re interested in joining our book club, fill out our Google form. We’ll keep you in the loop about our upcoming events!

Join us for an afternoon of creativity, community, and color at Tie Dye Your Pride! This event is all about celebrating identity, self-expression, and unity across our campus. Come make your own vibrant tie-dye shirt that showcases your pride—whether it’s pride in yourself, your culture, or the communities you belong to.

We’ll provide the shirts, dye, and supplies; all you need to bring is your creativity and positive energy! This is a safe and affirming space to connect, express yourself, and build bridges between communities.
