        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  women's  track  and  field  team  will  compete  in  the  2025  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  Outdoor  Championships  this  week,  hosted  by  Lewis  in  Romeoville,  Ill.  The  three-day  event  will  take  place  Thursday  through  Saturday,  May  1–3.

Entries
UIS  will  be  represented  in  a  variety  of  distance  and  middle-distance  events  throughout  the  meet,  beginning  with  the  1,500-meter  preliminaries  on  Thursday.  A  mix  of  returners  and  fresh  faces  will  take  the  track  in  Lillian  Buzani,  Marissa  Roggensack,  and  Josslyn  Gaona.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Illinois  Springfield  softball  team  opened  the  GLVC  Tournament  with  a  strong  statement,  taking  down  No.  4  seed  McKendree  7-2  on  Wednesday  afternoon  at  the  EastSide  Centre.  The  win  marked  the  Prairie  Stars'  first  conference  tournament  victory  since  2019  and  improved  their  record  to  30-18  on  the  season.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  May  2025  UIS  Human  Resources  Newsletter  highlights  two  key  updates:  the  Protection  of  Minors  Event  Form  is  now  fully  online,  streamlining  submissions  directly  to  HR  with  contact  support  from  Paige  Lavin,  and  an  upcoming  Employee  Development  Series  session  titled  “Discussing  Implicit  Bias,”  scheduled  for  May  29,  2025.  This  in-person  training,  led  by  Ray  Rodriguez,  will  focus  on  recognizing  and  addressing  interpersonal  bias  in  the  workplace,  emphasizing  the  roles  of  ethics,  equity,  and  culture.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">As  announced  by  the  NCAA  on  Monday  afternoon,  the  Illinois  Springfield  women's  golf  team  has  officially  earned  a  spot  in  the  2025  NCAA  Division  II  East  Regional.  The  Prairie  Stars  will  compete  May  5-7  at  The  Meadows  Golf  Course  in  Allendale,  Mich.,  hosted  by  Grand  Valley  State. 

UIS  will  join  17  other  teams  from  across  the  East  Region,  including  top  seeds  Findlay,  Grand  Valley  State,  Missouri-St.  Louis,  and  UIndy.  The  full  list  of  qualifying  teams  includes:

1.  Findlay
2.  Grand  Valley  State
