Today  is  the  first  day  of  classes  at  UIS.  This  marks  the  54th  “first  day”  for  UIS  learners  since  our  doors  opened  for  classes  as  Sangamon  State  University  in  1970.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  men's  soccer  team  has  been  ranked  5th  in  the  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  (GLVC)  preseason  poll,  as  announced  today  by  the  league  office.

The  preseason  poll  is  selected  by  the  league's  head  coaches,  who,  per  GLVC  Bylaws,  are  not  permitted  to  vote  for  their  own  team.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  women's  soccer  team  has  been  voted seventh  in  the  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  (GLVC)  preseason  poll,  as  announced  Thursday by  the  league  office.

The  league's  head  coaches  vote  in  the  preseason  poll.  Coaches,  per  GLVC  Bylaws,  are  not  permitted  to  vote  for  their  own  team.</div>
