Dear Colleagues –
It was exciting to see our campus buzzing with prospective students and families during last week’s Open House. We’re launching into the final eight weeks of the semester with the start of Fall Accelerated Courses today, and our Admission team has been working nonstop to recruit now that it is college application season.

IDPH Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike to discuss health equity during UIS co-hosted virtual presentation
WHAT: Dr. Ngozi Ezike, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, will explore health equity, not only in definition, but also how equity looks in practice. She will also highlight the state’s health improvement plan to identify key issues and action steps to address health equity in Illinois as well as discuss the impacts of COVID-19 related to health care access, health disparities and building trust in Illinois communities.
UIS creates three new schools, adds degrees and minors
The University of Illinois Springfield has created three new schools to better serve students and meet the needs of our Capital Region community, including the addition of new degrees and minors that are now open for enrollment.

Sunday at St. Charles, Mo., 26.2-Mile Cowbell Marathon, Edwardsville High School head girls, and boys cross country coach George Patrylak and University of Illinois Springfield head men’s and women’s cross country coach Tyler Pence, didn’t forget their athletes who are now going on to stardom in post-college events.
