Madelyn Miller Earns USTFCCCA All-Region Honors in the 5K
UIS Track & Field junior Madelyn Miller has been named a USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in the 5,000 meters for the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field season, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.
Miller earned the recognition by finishing among the top five individuals in the Midwest Region in the event. She secured her spot with a school record time of 16:37.46 at the GVSU Big Meet on February 14, 2025.
Prairie Stars Set to Host Indianapolis in Home GLVC Series
The Illinois Springfield baseball team continues GLVC play this weekend, hosting Indianapolis for a four-game series at the UIS Baseball Field. The series opens Friday at 1:00 p.m., followed by a pair of seven-inning games on Saturday at noon and 3:00 p.m. The series finale is set for Sunday at noon.
Miller Earns Second Team All-America Honors with 10th-Place Finish at Nationals
Madelyn Miller, a junior on the UIS track & field team, secured Second Team All-America honors with a 10th-place finish in the 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday, marking her first national championship appearance and earning All-America status in her debut.
Miller ran 16:38.16, finishing within a second of her personal best and edging out athletes from the University of Mary and Grand Valley State.

UIS honors employees for excellence during annual awards ceremony
University of Illinois Springfield employees were recognized for their outstanding contributions during the Chancellor’s Awards and Staff Appreciation Day held at the Student Union on March 13, 2025. The ceremony, overseen by UIS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Brandon Schwab, featured two prestigious awards: the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) Award and the Chancellor’s Award to Recognize Excellence in Civil Service (CARE).
