The UIS听men's tennis team looks to pick up its first win of the season when it takes on Purdue Northwest听at 12 p.m. on Friday in Griffith, Ind.
Illinois Springfield (0-5)
The Prairie Stars fell 4-3 to Hillsdale on Feb. 23 and played Eastern Illinois in an exhibition on March 1. Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan lead UIS with 2-3 singles records, while Herrera is 2-2 in doubles play with partner Jorge Roman.
Purdue Northwest (9-3)
Purdue Northwest enters the match on a five-match winning streak dating back to Feb. 23, including four victories over GLVC opponents. Alex Miguel van Lumich Lozano is 6-2 in singles play, Joao Martins is 5-3, and Daniel Chicano i Melero is 4-4. The doubles team of van Lumich Lozano and Samuel Dickson holds an impressive 8-1 record.
UIS leads the all-time series 2-1 but fell 4-3 in the most recent matchup last year.
UIS will also play a scrimmage against Prairie State later in the day.
