Electoral College, Voter Registration, & the Role of the Media in Elections

Join CSPL for a Constitution Day panel on the Electoral College, voter registration, and the role of media in elections. UIS experts and a representative from the Springfield community will convene a panel discussion on these topics related to the Constitution. Lunch will be provided for registrants. Free and open to the public!

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Center for State Policy and Leadership (CSPL), the University of Illinois System Institute of Government and Public Affairs (IGPA) and the Illinois Innovation Network (IIN) will present two days of presentations, discussion and networking around policy and social innovation. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Registration is required.

The Samuel K. Gove Illinois Legislative Internship Hall of Fame at the University of Illinois Springfield will induct five new members during a ceremony at 7 p.m. on April 23 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield. Prior to the awards ceremony, a reception will be held at 6 p.m.

The University of Illinois Springfield Alliance for Experiential Problem-Based Ñî¹óåú´«Ã½ is partnering with the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) to establish simulation training to support the implementation of new standards for child protective services. The training will be used by child protection investigative workers to better protect children from abuse.

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield Center for State Policy and Leadership, College of Public Affairs and Education and Win Together will host a Government Excellence Network Summit that will bring together local government and non-profit leaders for a shared learning experience aimed at empowering them with innovative strategies and practical solutions to drive excellence in their communities.

The University of Illinois Springfield’s Center for State Policy and Leadership (CSPL) will discuss the important work it’s doing to promote the public good during its annual showcase event on Thursday, Sept. 14 in the UIS Student Union Ballroom. The event will begin at 8 a.m. with networking and a breakfast, followed by the program from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
