Why are fewer people riding public transit, and what do lower farebox revenues mean for state and federal government in their oversight and support of transit agencies? In an article published last year in the Municipal Finance Journal, our research team at the Institute of Government and Public Affairs developed some hypotheses for a possibly permanent decline in commuting: many workers became accustomed to working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been hesitant to return to working in the office (Funderburg et al. 2023).

The University of Iowa College of Law invites you to the Law Bridge 2024 program. The program is designed to introduce diverse, under-represented, and non-traditional students to law school. This program is a way for you to learn what it is like to be a law student, develop a strong application, take two mock law classes, and listen and interact with current and former law students.
Schedule:
April 5: Introduction, followed by sessions on law careers, a mock class, law school tours, and group work.

2024 ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational

This program provides an opportunity for high school students to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before the Illinois courts. Participating students gain a better understanding of the justice system and improve their knowledge, skills, and ability to articulate in a reasoned, thoughtful manner.
Jennifer Martin, an associate professor in the University of Illinois Springfield鈥檚 School of Education, has been selected to receive the Truman L. Kelley Award for Scholarship Excellence from , a national educational honor society. The award will be presented during KDP鈥檚 first-ever virtual Founders Day Celebration on March 8.
