UIS professor awarded a $397,498 grant to study urban water movement and its impact on public health

Kyle Blount, assistant professor in the School of Integrated Sciences, Sustainability and Public Health at the University of Illinois Springfield, has been awarded a four-year, $397,498 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to study urban water movement and its effects on ecosystems and public health.

UIS to offer four new medical laboratory science certificates to meet local health care needs

The University of Illinois Springfield will offer four new medical laboratory science (MLS) certificates starting in August to address the critical shortage of certified laboratory specialists in central Illinois. Certificates will be offered in clinical chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and medical microbiology.

UIS announces Spring Semester 2024 Dean’s List

The University of Illinois Springfield has released the names of the 698 students who made the Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2024.

A total of 104 students in the College of Business and Management; 320 students in the College of Health, Science and Technology; 109 students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences; 143 students in the College of Public Affairs and Education; and 22 non-degree seeking or undecided students made the list.

UIS and the City of Springfield to host an inaugural Earth Month nature scavenger hunt

WHAT: The University of Illinois Springfield, in partnership with the City of Springfield, will host an inaugural UIS Nature Scavenger Hunt. The scavenger hunt is part of the City of Springfield’s Earth Month events and is free and open to the public.
