Thank you for your understanding and continued patience.

Business Services Building (BSB) 33

As part of our commitment to improving campus connectivity, Information Technology Services (ITS) is transitioning personal devices to the UISPreauth wireless network. This new network replaces UISBYOD and offers enhanced compatibility for a wider range of personal devices, including gaming consoles, smart TVs, and other devices that cannot connect to UISWifi. The UISBYOD network will be turned off on July 22.

Due to staffing issues from July 21-23, in-person access to ITS Client Services will be by appointment only. To ensure we can provide you with dedicated assistance, please schedule your visit by emailing techsupport@uis.edu or calling 217-206-6000.

We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we manage temporary staffing challenges.

Can you give me a brief timeline of how your career led you to UIS?

After receiving my Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I spent a year teaching in the university’s history department before accepting a postdoctoral fellowship at its Center for Great Plains Studies. I spent the next two years researching the Homestead Act, signed by Abraham Lincoln in 1862.

During the week of July 14, we will be upgrading the Human Resources Building.

During the transition for each building, laptops, tablets, and phones should automatically switch to the new Wi-Fi after a possible brief interruption in service.

Greetings UIS Community,

Our Copyleaks representative has indicated that "you may notice some differentiation in results on scans that are completed before versus after this change." As you are navigating these changes, if you have any questions or concerns about the results, COLRS staff is happy to work with you.

We have Bocce ball courts on campus!

We’d like to offer a summer lunch league for UIS employees. Yes, it’s a bit warm outside, but it’s not a game that takes a lot of energy. It's a game that's a lot of fun.

A team only consists of two people, but we’re encouraging departments to sign up. That way, you can have people cheer you on, or you can take turns, or if someone is on vacation, someone else plays. This is how it will work:
