The UIS women's basketball team will hit the road to take on the Union Bulldogs in Jackson, Tenn. on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for a non-conference matchup.

UIS isÌýseeking its first victory of the 2024-25 season following a loss to Stephens last Thursday. The game began with a tightly contested first quarter, but a strong second quarter from StephensÌýcreated a 16-point halftime lead. UIS made adjustments and fought back in the third, cutting the deficit to 11 points. However, Stephens regained momentum in the fourth, extending the lead to 18. Despite a late 8-0 run by the Prairie Stars, highlighted by two three-pointers from Diavian Mehundrew, UIS was unable to close the gap, ultimately falling 70-56.
The Prairie Stars also faced Division I Marquette in a road exhibition on Monday. Although UIS struggled throughout the game, the matchup offered valuable experience against a high-level opponent, with the final score reflecting a 92-37 loss.

Both teams displayed strong offensive performances, leading to a high-scoring and exciting game. Union took control in the second quarter, building a 12-point lead by halftime. They extended their advantage in the third, pushing the margin to as much as 32 points. The Bulldogs wrapped up the contest with a decisive 110-81 victory.
