The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to diversify the kinds of students who study and intern abroad and the countries and regions where they go by offering awards to U.S. undergraduates who might otherwise not participate due to financial constraints.

The Junior Summer Institutes (JSI) are part of the Public Policy and International Affairs program, dedicated to promoting underrepresented groups to participate in public service. JSI is an intensive seven-week summer program that focuses on preparing students for graduate programs in public and international affairs and careers as policy professionals, public administrators and other leadership roles in public service. Participation qualifies alumni for a graduate fellowship at 40 select institutions nationwide
