UIS Baseball Wins Dramatic, Weather-Stretched Regular Season Finale 13-2

The Illinois Springfield baseball team wrapped up its 2025 regular season with a memorable 13-2 win over McKendree on Saturday. The game, scheduled for an 11:00 a.m. start in Lebanon, Ill., was halted in the fourth inning due to torrential rain. After a lengthy delay and relocation to a turf field in Greenville, Ill., the game resumed at 7:00 p.m., and the Prairie Stars finished the job in seven innings.

UIndy Defeats UIS Softball 2-1 in GLVC Title Game

The Prairie Stars came up just short in the GLVC Championship on Sunday, falling 2-1 to UIndy in the title game. Facing the undefeated Greyhounds in the double-elimination final, UIS needed to win twice to claim the title but was edged by two late runs as UIndy secured its fourth GLVC Tournament championship.

Prairie Stars and Bearcats Split Friday’s Mid-Series Doubleheader

The UIS and McKendree baseball teams each claimed a win in Friday's pair of seven-inning games in Lebanon, Ill. McKendree took game one 7-4, while UIS bounced back for a 6-4 win in game two. The series — and the regular season — concludes with an 11:00 a.m. first pitch on Saturday.

Stellar Pitching Leads Prairie Stars to First GLVC Championship Game Appearance Since 2012

The Illinois Springfield softball team stayed hot at the GLVC Championship Tournament on Friday, winning two elimination games to advance to its first title game in over a decade. The Prairie Stars shut out Missouri S&T 2-0 in the morning with Taylor Zawacki in the circle, then upset No. 1 seed Drury 4-1 behind stellar pitching from Rosie Bartletti. UIS is now 33-19 on the season and will face sixth-seeded Indianapolis on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the championship round.Â
