The UIS women's track and field team will compete in the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships this week, hosted by Lewis in Romeoville, Ill. The three-day event will take place Thursday through Saturday, May 1鈥�3. Entries UIS will be represented in a variety of distance and middle-distance events throughout the meet, beginning with the 1,500-meter preliminaries on Thursday. A mix of returners and fresh faces will take the track in Lillian Buzani, Marissa Roggensack, and Josslyn Gaona.

The Illinois Springfield softball team opened the GLVC Tournament with a strong statement, taking down No. 4 seed McKendree 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the EastSide Centre. The win marked the Prairie Stars' first conference tournament victory since 2019 and improved their record to 30-18 on the season.

As announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon, the Illinois Springfield women's golf team has officially earned a spot in the 2025 NCAA Division II East Regional.
