I am pleased to share that Jill Wilberg has been named the University of Illinois Springfield鈥檚 next vice chancellor for finance and administration, effective June 16. She will serve in a designate capacity pending formal approval by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees.

Dear UIS Community,

The University of Illinois Springfield Police Department wants to alert you to a recent fraudulent phone scam聽targeting members of the surrounding community. These scams involve callers falsely identifying themselves as law enforcement officials from surrounding jurisdictions聽and claiming the recipient is involved in an ongoing criminal investigation and/or legal matter.

In each reported case, the caller attempts to coerce the victim into making a monetary payment聽to avoid arrest or being named as a suspect in a fictitious investigation.

Kali Osburn, building service sub-foreman in Campus Recreation, has been named the University of Illinois Springfield Employee of the Month for June 2025.

鈥淜ali is committed to keeping a clean and welcoming space for our students, staff and guests,鈥� her nominator said.

Her nominator also highlighted how she has stepped up while they are currently down one position.

鈥淪he has willingly taken overtime shifts and has helped to schedule the work for an additional overtime employee,鈥� her nominator said.
