Welcome Week: UIS students head back to classroom

Heading back to the classroom. That's exactly what University of Illinois Springfield students did Friday. For the first month of the 2021 semester, all students, faculty, and staff on campus are required to take a covid-19 test at least once a week. The campus also required all students on campus to get the covid-19 vaccine, with few of those exempted. Events include the Jello Olympics happening on Sunday, the Welcome Picnic on Monday, and the Involvement Expo on Tuesday. |

UIS Puts COVID Restrictions In Place For Upcoming Shows

If you鈥檙e planning to attend a show at the UIS Performing Arts Center this fall, be prepared to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test. That鈥檚 just one of the precautions being put in place by UIS amid an ongoing surge of new COVID cases. Attendance at Sangamon Auditorium events is being limited to 1,000鈥 which is 50-percent capacity. Concession stands will be closed, although patrons can bring bottled water into shows. Reaching Stellar: Academics soar with launch of online MBA program

The College of Business and Management has heard for years from students who said they would consider pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree 鈥 if it was offered online. 鈥淲e would say, 鈥極ne day, one day,鈥 CBM Associate Dean Jorge Villegas said. 鈥淭hat day has arrived.鈥 In October the CBM is set to launch its online MBA program, as well as a master鈥檚 degree in Finance. In the pipeline for 2022 are online master鈥檚 degrees in Cybersecurity Management, Health Care Informatics and Human Resource Management. |
