James Edward Baker (2023)

Dr. Baker enjoyed careers in air freight, real estate, newspaper, education, and renewable energy retiring in 2021. After working in air freight transportation and as an independent real estate appraiser, Ed spent 18 years in the newspaper industry. He introduced them to the Internet—replacing advertising, editorial, business, and composing systems and their 300+ dummy terminals with integrated PC workstations and digital pagination.

Doug Shaw (2022)

Doug Shaw has been an I.T. professional for Caterpillar, beginning his career as a program analyst in 1997, and is currently a Business Process Specialist in I.T. risk management.  Mr. Shaw has also taught management information systems as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois at Springfield-Peoria Center for 20 years.  He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees for Western Illinois University. He also serves as Board President for Solvera Healthcare and is the immediate past President of the Board of Education for Peoria Public Schools.  Mr.

Our department's alumni have gone on to make significant contributions in their fields, their communities and society as a whole. The Hall of Fame recognizes these alumni of the MIS Department, and serves as inspiration for the next generation of students.

The Hall of Fame membership will grow over time. Our inductees reflect the great diversity of our alumni—their careers and accomplishments—which have brought distinction to the MIS Department, the College of Business and Management and UIS.

Natasha Conley (2017)

Natasha Conley, PMP serves as the Vice President of Professional Services & Resources, Inc. (PSRI), a family owned business which was incorporated in 1987. Ms. Conley also serves as President of PSRI Technologies, LLC (PSRI Tech) which she founded in 2001. PSRI Tech’s headquarters are located in Jefferson City, Missouri and has a branch office in Metropolitan St. Louis.
