Women’s Golf Opens Edison Era at UIndy Fall Invitational

The UIS women's golf team will open its fall 2025Â season on Monday and Tuesday at the UIndy Fall Invitational, hosted by GLVC opponent Indianapolis at Champions Pointe Golf Club in Henryville, Ind.
The athletes will compete in three rounds of stroke play over two days, facing a strong field of 11 opponents, including eight from the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Prairie Stars Claim 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational Title with Strong Pack Finish

The Illinois Springfield men's cross country team captured the team championship at the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational on Friday evening, scoring 25 points to top the field in the 7K race at the UIS Cross Country Course.
UIS packed seven runners inside the top 10 overall, led by newcomer Colin Graham, who placed third in 21:56. Joey Karlesky and Noah Tegeler joined him in the top five, while Owen Whelan and Brock Loftus rounded out the Prairie Stars' scoring five.

Prairie Stars Win 10th Annual Invitational, Miller-Ross Sets Course Record

The Illinois Springfield women's cross country team opened its season in dominant fashion, winning the 10th Annual Prairie Stars Invitational on Friday evening with a team score of 19 points.
Senior Madelyn Miller-Ross led the way, taking the individual title in a course-record time of 18:01.07. Her performance broke the previous UIS Cross Country Course women's 5K record of 18:21.2, set by a runner from Purdue Northwest at this meet in 2021.
