The UIS softball team was recognized with three All-GLVC selections on Wednesday, as Rosie Bartletti and Ella Brinkley were named to the First Team and Taylor Zawacki earned a spot on the Second Team. The announcement came after the team's 7-2 victory over McKendree in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament, which improved the team's record to 30-18.  Rosie Bartletti | Junior | Pitcher | Springfield, Ill. 

The UIS women's track and field team will compete in the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships this week, hosted by Lewis in Romeoville, Ill. The three-day event will take place Thursday through Saturday, May 1–3. Entries UIS will be represented in a variety of distance and middle-distance events throughout the meet, beginning with the 1,500-meter preliminaries on Thursday. A mix of returners and fresh faces will take the track in Lillian Buzani, Marissa Roggensack, and Josslyn Gaona.

The Illinois Springfield softball team opened the GLVC Tournament with a strong statement, taking down No. 4 seed McKendree 7-2 on Wednesday afternoon at the EastSide Centre. The win marked the Prairie Stars' first conference tournament victory since 2019 and improved their record to 30-18 on the season.

The UIS men's track and field team is set to compete at the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships this week. The event, hosted by Lewis this year, will take place Thursday through Saturday, May 1–3, in Romeoville, Ill.
