The Illinois Springfield women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a pair of close losses to tough GLVC opponents over the weekend. The Prairie Stars finished the season with a 1-11 overall record and a 1-4 mark in conference play. Prior to the match on Saturday, the team honored its seniors — Carmen Llopis Fabra, Kamila Kalinowska, and Piper Schrepferman — with a pre-match recognition ceremony.

The UIS softball team traveled to Fayette, Iowa, on Saturday, sweeping Upper Iowa with victories of 6-1 and 7-4 to improve to 29-16 overall and 17-9 in GLVC play. With the wins, UIS secured a spot in the GLVC tournament.

The Illinois Springfield men's tennis team will close out its conference schedule at home this weekend with matches against Indianapolis and McKendree. Weekend Schedule & Locations Due to forecasted rain, Friday's match against No. 17 Indianapolis has been moved indoors and will be played at 2:00 p.m. at the Springfield Racquet and Fitness Center.

UIS softball is headed on the road to close out the regular season with back-to-back noon doubleheaders—Saturday at Upper Iowa and Sunday at Lewis. The UIS baseball team is listed among the programs under consideration in the first NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings of the 2025 season, released Wednesday evening. This week's rankings are presented alphabetically, with UIS among nine teams recognized in a competitive Midwest Region field.
