The UIS men's golf team is in second place after the first round of the Flyers Spring Invitational, posting a team score of 301 (+13). The Prairie Stars sit four strokes behind leaders Davenport, who finished with a 297 (+9). The final round is set for Tuesday at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club.

UIS senior utility player Taylor Zawacki was named the GLVC Softball Player of the Week after a dominant offensive performance in four conference games last weekend.

The UIS women's golf team finished the first round of the Flyers Spring Invitational in fourth place with a team score of 328 (+40). The final round is scheduled for Tuesday at Cantigny Golf Club.

Before resuming its GLVC slate at Upper Iowa this weekend, the UIS baseball team will welcome the Maryville Saints to the UIS Baseball Field for a midweek non-conference matchup. Last Tuesday's meeting between the teams was a 13-6 win for UIS, where the Prairie Stars' bats came alive in the late innings while strong pitching secured the victory.
